◯内に秘めたエネルギー

空海は、文字に意味だけを込めることをしなかった。読み方を伝えることだけに終わらなかった。むしろそれを本当に避けた。彼が密教の教えを伝えたかった人々が何を受け取れるか、相手のことを真っ先に考えたのだろうと思う。それがまさに密教の教え。

彼は、ただ美しく書かれた楷書ではなく飛白体に心惹かれ、それを日本に持ち帰り、そして1つの書体にとらわれずに、様々な書体を自由自在に駆使した。

また、空海の描いた草書体が、ひらがなに変わっていったと言う説がある。

空海は、自分の認識をいかにして見た目でダイレクトに、その書を目にしてる人に届けるかと言うことをに腐心している現代のコンテンポラリーアーティストたちの抽象表現や、グラフィックデザイナー、タイポグラフィーと同じですが、もちろんそこで意図されるものは全く次元が違うだろう。

大切なのはそこからエネルギーを読み取る事だ。それを感じてみるのだ。

同じ文字でも誰か他の人が書いた文字で

良いわけではない。

宇宙はわからない人にとっては

たとえその人が、

我が心それは宇宙と同じと書いたところで

その文字には何の力もない。

空海は、一文字一文字の中に、

心を込め

精神を統一し、

自然を捉え、宇宙をかたどり

書を描いた。

つまり空海にとって、

心を動かすチカラは

宇宙よりも偉大なのである、

ここがポイントだ。

そうやって彼は

内に宇宙を観ながら書いている。

エネルギーを発している。

彼の口から飛び出した真言はそのような力を持っていたはずである。

空海の書は重要文化財になっていて、なかなか目にすることはできませんが、もしそれがどこかで公開されるならば、

それはできるだけ観に行くべきでしょう。

また公開されないにしても、彼の所が載っている本を手に入れて、彼の書いた書とともに座禅をするのも良いでしょう。

月を見て、空海は同じ月を見たと、

空海の気持ちを想像してみるのも良いでしょう

人は感じた分しか理解できない

人は分かった分しか、

人に伝えることができません。

彼は自分の理解の全てを一文字一文字に込め、一言一言にこめ、私たちに残してくださったのですね。

◯ 真言につながるインドの学び

密教を日本にもたらした空海さんは密教の子開祖から始めると7番目に相当しますが、

1番最初の大日如来と金剛薩埵、6番目の慧果を除き、なんと4人もインド人です。

つまり密教にはインドのヴェーダの教えの実践的な部分が凝縮されているのです。

このVeda の学びを完成させるのに6つの学問があり第一番目に音声学シクシャーがあります。

明確に発音できないものには、その言葉に力を持たせることができない、とシクシャーにはあります。

そして、ヨガもVeda を修める準備の学問の1つで、ヨガの本当の目指すところは心を整えることにあり、それはすべての宗教に受け入れられた科学的な道であり、密教で目指すところの、基本となる心について学ぶことと同じだ。

( ホットヨガとか、床は天井から吊るされるヨガとかいろいろありますが、それらはヨガ本来の目的を見失っています。.. それらはヨガと言う名前のついた… 単なる体のメンテナンス、またはエクササイズです。とにかく先生を選ばないといけない。そのためには、判断できる知識を日常的に学び、自分の知性識別力を養わないといけないね。)

心が淨まると物事の区別、識別、弁別がはっきりしてきて、やがて、心を治めることができるようになると、自分の中の思考のささやきを自由自在に、ネガティブにもポジティブにも自分次第でコントロールできるようになる。

自分がどのようなエネルギーを発しているのか自覚的になるからだ。

それを行えるようになったものを、

本当のヨギと言うのですね。

密教で言うならば、それは阿闍梨でしょう。

◯ 真言とは、真実の言葉

それはつまり言葉が事実になると言う事。

これは先にあげた、Veda の音声学、シクシャーが目指す境地である。

思考や発した言葉がそのまま真言になる、そのまま現実化する、このためにはどれだけの修行積んだのだろう。どれだけの境地にあるのだろう。

だから軽はずみに言葉を発してはいけない。

思考の中にどんなエネルギーがあるのか、観察していないといけない。

知らず知らずのうちに、穢れた思考エネルギーを使っている場合があるからだ。もしそんな状態なら、いかなる良い言葉を発したとしても、それは真実にならず嘘になってしまう、と知らないといけない。

だけど、空海はこの真言を使える力が、私たち一人ひとりにあるよと言いたかった。

宇宙に対する深い認識が無い者がマントラを唱えても、意味を成さない。

同じようにいくら良いことを口走っても、

無駄である。

いかに真言を覚えたとて

マントラを100も、200も覚えたとて、

そのマントラを口にしているものに、

その言葉の持つ意味だけではなく、全ての力を理解しないで、いかにそれを使い回すことができようか。

空海が、経典を読むだけでは、何も理解したことにはならないと思って、密教のある特別な経典を読みたがっていた最澄の願いを聞き入れなかったのはそのせいでしょう。

エネルギーありき、

エネルギーとはなんでしょう？

それは意識の力に他ならない。

If you don’t have a deep understanding of the universe, chanting mantras will not make sense.

No matter how many mantras he has memorized

But the one who utters the mantra

This is probably why Kukai refused to listen to Saicho’s wish to read a particular esoteric scripture, because he felt that reading a scripture does not mean that you have understood anything.
